LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A California man has been booked for driving under the influence causing substantial bodily harm in a Saturday morning accident that injured him and three other people.
Metro reports evidence at the scene and witness reports indicate that 24-year-old Nan Li of Baldwin Park, Calif., was driving a 2012 Honda Odyssey and ran a red light while traveling west on Desert Inn Road and collided with a 2002 Dodge Caravan traveling south on Buffalo Drive. The accident happened shortly before 6 a.m.
The front of the Honda struck the left side of the Dodge van, causing it to tip over onto its passenger side while rotating counter clockwise. Las Vegas resident Lee Ann Smith, 40, was the driver of the Grand Caravan was extricated by emergency personnel and transported to UMC Trauma for severe injuries.
Li was booked into the Clark County Detention Center after he failed a field sobriety test. Metro said.
Two passengers in Li's vehicle, 25-year-old Jialin Yu of Baldwin Park, Calif., and 26-year-old Ricky Ziao of Las Vegas suffered minor injuries.
