NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A man killed in an early Saturday morning car accident near Texas Station casino has been identified.

The Clark County coroner's office said Las Vegas resident Estacio Sanchez, 37, died of blunt force injury to his chest because of the car accident.

North Las Vegas police said officers responded about 12:30 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident involving a Jeep and a sedan at West Lake Mead Boulevard and Texas Star Lane.

Officers found Sanchez lying in the roadway unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on scene by medical personnel. Three other men were transported to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of the Jeep was involved in a minor crash in the parking lot of Texas Station. He was reportedly attempting to flee from that crash when he drove northbound on Lake Mead Boulevard.

Evidence suggested that he failed to stop for the red light as he exited the parking lot and encroached the path of a sedan that was traveling eastbound on Lake Mead.

There were three occupants of the sedan; an 18-year-old driver, an 18-year-old passenger, and a 28-year-old passenger.

Evidence suggested the driver of the Jeep was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The accident was the eighth fatal crash in North Las Vegas this year.
