NORTH LAS VEGAS -- A memorial service for a Nellis Air Force Base airman who died Sunday in motorcycle accident is schedule for 2 p.m. Friday at the base chapel.
Senior Airman Jimmy Rivera, 22, an 823rd Maintenance Squadron weapons load-crew member from Pasadena, Calif., died at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
"This is a tragic accident, and I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends and coworkers of Airman Rivera," said Maj. Kimberly Grover, 823rd MXS commander. "Dealing with his loss will take time, and we need to support each other through the grieving process. Airmen are the number one asset the Air Force has, and I would ask that people keep safety foremost in their minds at all times."
Rivera is survived by his mother, a sister and three brothers.
