Money does not cause drop outs, nor will it fix it. School need to provide students something other than writing, reading and arithmetic, they need to know they will leave high school with something that will actually help them. Those who drop out do not plan on going to college, so they need something else. School should be providing them a course with substance, like obtain a Automotive Service Excellent certificate, or being able to use a steno-graph machine, or how to use heavy equipment.

PS.. Do not tax the people that do not use this drop out prevention program. Charge the people who do use the program. I am tired of paying for everyone else! My son does not use a Brick and Mortar Public School but public schools still get the head count money for my son and they still get my $3800.00 a year property tax for schools. I home school because I care, proof is in the fact that I pay for the public schools but I do not get paid myself!

You can not fix a problem without getting to the ROOT of the problem! Throwing more money at a program that is a patch or repair for a problem is a total waste of money. Students that do not want to learn, WONT no matter how much money you throw at them and they just take other students down with them! #1. problem, Parents that do not enforce rules for learning. #2. Class sizes are to large which causes to many distractions. #3. Teachers that are qualified by degrees but are not qualified by mentality. It is all about the money, no longer about the caring to actually teach! #4. Bullies and screw off students need to go! #5. English speaking students pay the price because of non-English speaking students. These 5 things are the ROOT of the problems! After having a child in the Clark County Schools a few years back and watching the complete fiasco of Public schools, I decided to Home School my other child from day 1. He is far ahead of all the public school kids in our neighbor hood after his first 3 years. He gets quality education with no BS or distractions. He gets complete information by someone who cares, His Father! No dumbing down or mis-information at home! Hard facts and the hard truth!

As long as it keeps our future in school. Do what needs to be done to keep them there.
