LAS VEGAS (KSNV/MyNews3.com) -- The stormy weather caused all kinds of accidents on the roadways. A tour bus crashed outside the Boulevard Mall Sunday night. Several cars were involved and at least a dozen injuries. Police say the bus driver may be facing some serious charges.

Metro says the driver of an empty tour bus was headed down Desert Inn when he lost control and hit a van. That caused a chain-reaction crash.

"He was speeding and slammed into all the cars and hit the pole," said neighbor Mike Ferris.

Jesus Herrera was in one of the cars hit. He was with his mother and father going back-to-school shopping.

"We were at the red light to turn into the mall, and we were the second car to get ready to turn so and so we were just right there," Herrerra said, "I don't know because of the slippery water wasn't able to stop in time, but I guess you know it lost control and it went on the sidewalk into like the apartments and I guess then a mini-van, it like hit us."

Police say the bus driver just kept going until he slammed into the pole. And if neighbors hadn't gotten involved they say may have left the scene.

Mike Ferris was one of those neighbors at the apartment complex next to crash that didn't want the driver to leave, so they blocked the bus door.

"We were just holding the door making sure he don't leave, and he just threw the keys out the window," Ferris said, "He was all dazed and glazed."

Neighbors say the driver appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Police say 15 people were involved in the multi-car crash, 12 were injured.

Jesus Herrera was pretty shaken up at first, but okay.

"I was scared because it hit the side where my mom was and I was scared for her but luckily for her, thank God, nothing happened to any of us," Herrera said.

And Mike Ferris is glad he and other neighbors were able to jump into action when chaos rolled onto their front doors.

Metro continued to investigate the collision for a couple of hours on scene. They say the bus driver was not very cooperative during this incident.
