Motorcyclist killed in crash in far northwest valley

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – A man was killed Tuesday night when he hit a fence after being ejected from the motorcycle he was riding.

According to a Metro news release, Franklin Savoy Jr., 30, of Las Vegas, was riding northbound around 6:30 p.m. on Oso Blanca Road just south of Kyle Canyon Road when he failed to maintain the roadway at a curve.

The motorcycle traveled off the east side of the roadway, and Savoy was ejected as the cycle hit a chain-link fence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This was the 60th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2013. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigations Section.
