LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A retired police officer in the Las Vegas valley is determined to defend the Los Angeles Police Department and its decision to fire Christopher Dorner.

Retired Metro police Officer Randy Sutton travels around the country, talking to officers about "policing with honor." it's something he says Dorner did not follow.

“The LAPD did exactly what they should have done,” Sutton said. “They got rid of a problem child before he wore the permanent badge of an LAPD officer.”

Sutton says his research reveals Dorner attended the Police Academy twice and was fired before even completing field training...

“He was identified as being incompetent by his field training officers,” Sutton said.

Sutton says when Dorner faced claims he used too much force against a homeless person, Dorner just blamed his field training officer.

Sutton says Dorner saw himself as the victim, but he says Dorner's lack of success with the LAPD was no one's fault but his own.

The system in which police department used to determine whether a person is capable of performing the job is not perfect but when someone is terminated for the failing his field training there is always good cause and no would want a sub standard officer in the street. Dorner is self serving, when it suits him everything is fine, but when not the world is against him.

Seriously a non story. He wasn't personally involved. And Metro is just as racist and aggressive and protective of their own killers. Who cares about his opinion.
