Homicide suspect in custody after shootout with FBI agents

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- FBI agents serving a search warrant ended up in a gun battle Tuesday night with a homicide suspect.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of east Karen Avenue near Maryland Parkway.

Agents came to an apartment complex to serve a search warrant for a man wanted for murder, but things quickly turned bad.

When authorities when in to serve the arrest warrant, the suspect fired shots at FBI agents, they fired back. The suspect then barricaded himself in the apartment for about five hours.

SWAT negotiators were called to the scene and the man eventually came out of the apartment and was taken into custody.

An FBI agent was hit but was wearing a bulletproof device and taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
