Shooting on I-15 sends Las Vegas man to UMC Trauma

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – A man is in critical condition this morning after being shot while driving southbound on Interstate 15 near Valley of Fire State Park.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Loy Hixson, the man was traveling southbound near mile marker 70 around 4:30 a.m. when another vehicle, described as a gold Tahoe or Suburban, pulled up and fired.

The victim, who is from Las Vegas, was hit in the back of the head and transported to UMC Trauma.

Hixson said NHP is conducting a joint investigation with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
