LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- An incident that started as a domestic disturbance call ended after more than six hours Sunday, with a suspect eluding Metro's SWAT unit.
"There was about a minute window where he could have gotten out of the house before we surrounded it and he must have slipped out," Lt. Michael Wallace told News 3.
The suspect is described as a white man about 40 years of age with close-cut hair, black or blue cutoff jean shorts, Wallace said.
A call reporting a domestic violence incident came in at 8:22 a.m. It ended at about 2:30 p.m., after SWAT used distraction devices and entered the home to find nobody there.
"He will likely face felony weapons and battery charges," Wallace said. "The victim was a female in her late 30s. He battered her. She fled from him and was outside the house when we arrived."
About a dozen residents were evacuated from the area around noon.
