LAS VEGAS (KSNV/ -- Storms hit the Las Vegas Valley early Sunday afternoon, causing some flooding in areas of Summerlin. Heavy rains fell across the area quickly. The parking lot at Suncoast at Alta and Rampart is just one example where rain was accumulating.

KSNV also learned at one point dime-sized hail fell in parts of Summerlin.

The Nevada Highway Patrol later said the 215 exit at Flamingo was experiencing flooding problems.

Later in the afternoon, heavy rains dumped in the Pahrump area, causing flood issues also. The National Weather Service says parts of State Route 160 flooded because of the system.

As the evening wore on, the storm moved and became quite a wind issue. It blew up dust and debris across Las Vegas, but at times the winds were strong enough to knock down trees.

Near UNLV, winds created a power outage near Maryland and Tropicana. NV Energy worked on the problem as businesses even shut down for awhile and traffic signals were out.

Meanwhile, in Sunrise Manor a very large pine tree toppled. It happened at the intersection of Lake Mead and Clifford.

In various parts of the Las Vegas Valley there was rain. If it didn't fall in your neighborhood, chances are you could see the rain fall from the sky from miles away.

And most people probably had the opportunity to see the lightning throughout the day.
