LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — Ammar Harris, a self-described pimp suspected in a deadly shooting on the Las Vegas Strip, was sentenced today for an earlier conviction of rape and robbery.
Harris received a sentence of 16 years to life in prison from Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney.
A jury in September found the 27-year-old Harris guilty in a June 2010 sex attack on an 18-year-old woman at a Las Vegas condominium.
Harris remains jailed after pleading not guilty in the Strip shooting and crash that killed an aspiring rapper, a cab driver, and a taxi passenger a little over a year ago.
He could get the death penalty in that case.
