Metro detectives are searching for the shooter in an early Saturday road rage incident that ended with a homicide.
Officers found the body of 23-year-old Las Vegas resident Kristofer Nuland Stafford in the road about 1:45 a.m. in the 6800 block of West Lone Mountain Road just south of Santa Fe Station. He was the victim of gunshot wounds.
Metro homicide detectives say the preliminary investigation indicates that a dispute occurred while two vehicles were traveling down the road. Witnesses to the road rage incident said the suspect vehicle fired multiple gunshots striking the victim and sped away. Witnesses could only describe the suspect’s vehicle as a dark-colored car with possible rear taillight damage.
The Clark County coroner's office has released the identity of the victim, but has not ruled on the mode or cause of death.
