Troubled legislator to face charges related to Feb. 10 arrest

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Troubled Assemblyman Steven Brooks was charged this morning with several offenses related to his arrest Feb. 10 in a domestic dispute involving his estranged wife.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson made the announcement in a news release this morning.

Brooks is charged by way of criminal complaint with one felony count of resisting a public officer with use of a firearm, one gross misdemeanor count of assault on an officer, and two misdemeanors, including battery constituting domestic violence and obstructing a police officer.

If convicted, the felony charge carries a maximum sentence of five years and $10,000 fine.

A summons will be issued for Brooks to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court.

Brooks is on leave from the Nevada Assembly and barred from the Carson City building.

Seriously folks, it's time that we demand drug and psychological testing for ALL of our elected officials. Compare the file photo in this story to a current photo and ask yourself if this guy looks like he's been on a crack or meth binge recently. This would of course explain his erratic behavior. But, what the heck do I know. I'm just a tax-paying citizen concerned for his country.

Ensign, Collins etc. seems like a double standard for this guy, oh that is right he is black.
