LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Two people died in a trailer fire earlier today in the northeast part of the valley.

The fire call came in at 3:35 a.m., according to Chief John Steinbeck of the Clark County Fire Department. An engine unit from Clark County and one from North Las Vegas responded to the fire at 4155 E. Carey Avenue near Lamb Boulevard.

"The trailer was fully involved when crews arrived. They were not aware of people being inside until they got the fire knocked down," Steinbeck told News 3.

Family members say Jerry Slayden Jr., 15, and Andrew Najera, 11, died in the fire.

The trailer was on a residential lot next to an occupied home. There were no exposed structures and the fire was contained to the trailer.

Neighbors said the home did not have electricity so the trailer was being used frequently.
