LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Two women were wounded this morning when they were shot while watching a soccer game at a park on the far northwest side of the valley.

Police spent the day searching for a suspect or suspects in the 11:15 a.m. incident at Teton Trails Park near Decatur Boulevard and Grand Teton Drive.

Metro police said a preliminary investigation indicated that one woman was shot in the leg while the other was grazed in her torso. Both are expected to recover from their injuries.

The weapon was a .22-caliber handgun or rifle and several shell casings were found on the ground, Metro public information Officer Marcus Martin said.

It was unclear if the shooter fired from inside the park or outside the park, Martin said.

The women, ages 39 and 48, were transported to UMC Trauma.

More than 100 people were evacuated from the park for several hours while Metro investigated, Martin said.

I've been to this park, is us a part of a school playground and is backed by a 8 ft concrete wall, on the other side of the wall are homes... Someone could very easily reach over and shoot and slip back behind the wall, especially if one of those homes is vacant.

Is this a gun free park? Good logic commentators, but the bullets were fired from outside the park and then the shell casings were dropped in the park by a drone flying overhead. Are these self inflicted?
