LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A volunteer high school girls basketball coach was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual misconduct.

Angelo Cruz, 23, faces two counts of sexual misconduct with a 16-year-old student after police say parents, staff and students reported seeing intimate behavior between the two.

Cruz is a volunteer assistant junior varsity coach at Legacy High School in North Las Vegas and does not work in the Clark County School District in any other capacity.

He is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.

First of all, no where did it say that he sexually assaulted or abused anyone. Yes, he was wrong to have a relationship with a student at a school where he volunteers, but its too harsh to wish the death penalty on someone whom you don't even know and when you don't understand the story. The girl obviously gave him consent because according to the messages she knew what was going on. It was a matter of a relationship with a student and a coach. That's it. He's not a child molester, a rapist, a pedophile, or whatever else you want to interpret the media is saying about him.

Why would a school allow a volunteer to coach a girls team that they know nothing about.
