With fund remaining tight, Metro sheriff plans hiring freeze

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The state's largest police department has officially shut its doors to new hires.

Metro Sheriff Doug Gillespie says he has to implement a hiring freeze effective immediately try to save some cash.

The department is facing a $65 million budget deficit next year.
