LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — With his food and water supplies dwindling down, the clock is ticking for a local mountain climber enduring treacherous conditions on one of the seven summits of the world.

John Beede, 31, is trapped in the jungles of Indonesia, stuck between an unpassable mine and hostile tribes.

His family says he was making his way down the mountain when his group was abandoned by their guide.

Mike Beede, John’s brother, said he believes the abandonment may have to do with the recent Indonesian presidential election and conflict within the local tribes.

Beede's group cannot turn back because without the guides, the hostile tribes guarding their territories have no reason not to attack them.

His brother says the only way to get help is to demand action or help the U.S. government helps them. He is just hoping help will come sooner rather than later.
