Two children dead after house fire near Ann, Durango

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Two children are dead this morning after a house fire in northwest Las Vegas.

According to Tim Szymanski of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, crews responded at 1:10 a.m. to a large, one-story home with heavy smoke upon arrival in the 5700 block of North Riley Street, near North Durango Drive and West Ann Road. One child was found deceased in the residence; the second child was transported to UMC Trauma and later died.

Clark County Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Jon Klassen said the victims were a 4-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl.

The father also was transported to UMC with unknown injuries.

CCFD officials are continuing the investigation.
