HENDERSON (KSNV MyNews3) – A fire call turned into a grow house discovery this morning at a residence near Warm Springs and Racetrack Road.

A Henderson Fire Department unit arrived just before 2:40 a.m. to find a significant amount of fire along one side of the home in the 900 block of Anchor Drive. Crews initiated an offensive fire attack and quickly knocked down the fire on the inside and along its exterior.

Crews then reported a grow house operation inside the garage, where more than 230 marijuana plants were discovered. Officers say the street value of the plants are $700,000.

The Southern Nevada Cannabis Operation and Regional Enforcement unit was then called in to continue the investigation.

SCORE is comprised of representatives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Henderson Police Department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, although it does appear to be accidental.

Total loss of the fire was estimated at $75,000.
