LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – One person is dead this morning after a single-vehicle accident in south Las Vegas.
Metro says the accident occurred just after 4:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of East Warm Spring Road, between Spencer and Burnham. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 2001 Honda Civic driven by a 62-year-old Henderson man was traveling westbound on Warms Springs in the right travel lane.
The Honda traveled off the north side of East Warm Springs and hit an NV Energy utility pole. The driver was transported to St. Rose Hospital and pronounced dead by medical personnel.
It is unknown at this time if the victim was suffering from a medical condition before the collision.
Metro says this will not count as a traffic-related fatality until the cause and manner of death is determined by the Clark County coroner's office. The crash remains under investigation by Metro’s Accident Investigation Section.
