LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – An unlicensed food vendor has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl, and Metro officers are asking for other possible victims to come forward.

According to a news release, Metro Sexual Assault detectives arrested Everardo Mata-Zuniga, 53, of Las Vegas on Friday on two counts of sexual assault of a victim under 14 years of age. The incidents which resulted in these charges occurred between 2010 and this year. During these crimes, he showed the victim pornographic movies before assaulting her.

Detectives learned Mata-Zuniga had been working for several years as an unlicensed food vendor, selling food from a bicycle cart in numerous apartment complexes and parks in the area of Pennwood Avenue and Arville Street. It is believed this suspect may have assaulted additional victims during this time.

Mata-Zuniga is described as a Hispanic male adult standing approximately 5-feet-5 and weighing 175 pounds, with black and gray hair and brown eyes.

These incidents remain under investigation. Detectives are asking anyone who has any information concerning possible additional victims of Mata-Zuniga to contact the LVMPD Sexual Assault Section at (702) 828-3421 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
