Suspect arrested in beating death near Sahara, Durango

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Metro police have made an arrest in the Friday morning beating death of a woman in west Las Vegas.

According to a Metro news release, Marvin Moran, 36, has been charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping and is being held in the Clark County Detention Center.

Metro received a call just after 6:15 a.m. that a woman was dying in an apartment in the 2600 block of South Durango Drive, south of West Sahara Avenue. Patrol officers responded to the location and found an unresponsive woman who appeared to have been severely beaten.

Detectives say the homicide is domestic-related. This is the 60th homicide investigation for Metro in 2014. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
