LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – One man is dead and a juvenile has been seriously injured after a motorcycle accident Sunday night near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Toiyabe Street.

According to a Metro news release, a 19-year-old male was riding with a 14-year-old boy on a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 650 sport motorcycle traveling westbound on Judson Avenue; after passing a bend in the roadway, the Kawasaki ran off the right side of the road onto the sidewalk.

The operator was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a lamp post on the north sidewalk. The rear passenger fell to the ground with the motorcycle, which slid along the sidewalk and back into the westbound lane of Judson Avenue.

The rider and the passenger were transported to UMC Trauma by ambulance. The passenger was treated for severe injuries. The rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff at UMC.
