LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Two schools were on a soft lock-down this afternoon after a duffel bag was abandoned next to a speed limit marquee sign near Red Rock Canyon.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said they received word of the bag around 12:30 p.m. They asked the Clark County School District to place Givins Elementary School and West Career & Technical Academy on lock-down and shut down Red Rock Canyon Road between Moenkopi Road and Sky Vista Drive.

It was determined that there was no incendiary device in the duffel bag, and the schools and roads were cleared at 2:20 p.m.
