LAS VEGAS (KSNV — A substitute teacher accused of sexual misconduct with a middle school student had her first court appearance today.

Tannika Queen, 22, is accused of sexual misconduct with a 15-year-old student, reportedly exchanging 2,400 text messages with the boy in two weeks.

Queen's lawyer, John Momot, told the judge that she had no criminal history, lives with her parents, and has ties to the community.

Her bail was set at $100,000. If she posts that, Queen will go home under house arrest and cannot have contact with children younger than 18.
