Suspect in Michigan slayings captured on Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (NBC News and MyNews3.com) -- A man wanted for two slayings in Saginaw, Mich., has been arrested in Las Vegas.

According to Saginaw police, 24-year old Michael Duane Lawrence is in custody in Las Vegas.

Metro says Lawrence was captured this morning by its Criminal Apprehension Team as he was walking out of the Best Western Casino Royale, 3411 Las Vegas Blvd.

He is in the Clark County jail awaiting extradition.

Lawrence is wanted in the August 2012 death is 6-year-old Lay'la Jones, who was killed in a drive-by shooting.

He is also wanted in the death of Angelica Olivarez, who is the mother of Lawrence's son.
