LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- The trial for the local woman accused of kidnapping and stabbing to death a 10-year-old girl has been pushed back another year.
A special public defender representing Brenda Stokes Wilson asked a judge today for more time to prepare for trial.
The trial was originally scheduled to start in July, but the judge agreed to push it back until June 2014.
Stokes Wilson is accused of kidnapping and killing 10-year-old Jade Morris in December.
Stokes Wilson was appointed the special public defender two weeks ago after her original attorney, Tony Liker, withdrew himself, saying Stokes Wilson could no longer pay him.
Stokes Wilson is facing the death penalty.
