Denise Spidle reporting

Spring Break is right around the corner and many parents are worried about child care.

Not only is it difficult to find a babysitter, there’s also the issue of child care you can trust.

But a new local branch of a growing national company promises to send you someone on demand that allows you to leave your kids without any worries.

A family that treasures spending time together, Lester and Mary Sherman wake up early every morning to talk, pray, and prepare Katelynn and Hailey for school.

“It's as important that I spend time with my wife as a family with the girls,” says Lester. “But the opportunity wasn't there to where we actually knew somebody that we felt comfortable with and trusted.”

Somebody like Mallory Laing. The 23-year-old UNLV student now works for SeekingSitters, a national company that recently opened a new local branch.

“I've always loved children. I volunteered in the toddler section at church. I started at a very early age babysitting.”

Owner Tami Toller says SeekingSitters matches appropriate child care with families looking for reliable babysitters. The company even utilizes an in-house investigation team with communication materials to ensure that your kids are safe.

“Our investigators… they're looking at criminal history, any civil records, any child sex-offender records.”

SeekingSitters requires that you pay an initial sign-up fee as well as a monthly subscription or a pay-per-use fee. In addition, be prepared to also pay an hourly fee starting at $13.50.

This guarantees available child care and what Seeking Sitters describes as guaranteed peace of mind.

Because Seekin Sitters is a national company, the Sherman family says they are also able to use the services when they travel. A babysitter simply comes to their hotel room.

Toller says she is planning to expand SeekingSitters to local business offices as well so working parents have an on-site option.
